YEAR 2008/09 ADMISSION INTO PRELIMINARY AND REMEDIAL STUDIES

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applications are invited from suitably qualified female candidates for admission into the following programmes of the College:

A. One year preliminary NCE Course in the following areas:-

I. Pre-NCE Sciences
II. Pre-NCE Languages
III. Pre-NCE Business

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (PRE-NCE)
Minimum of 4 ‘O’ level papers two of which must be relevant to the proposed course of study – Thus:-

i. WASC/GCE ordinary level/SSCE with at least 4 (four) passes in English Language, Mathematics, and two other relevant subjects such as Physics, Biology, Agric Science, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Wood work, Metal work, Basic Electronics Applied Electricity, Auto Mechanics, French, Arabic, Religious Knowledge, Nigerian Languages, Economics, Accounts, Shorthand, Food and Nutrition e.t.c.

ii. City and Guilds/WAEC Technical/Craft Intermediate part II/course B certificate in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Trade respectively, plus Federal Craft Certificate (FCC) with at least Credit passes in four academic subjects including Mathematics, Science, English Language, Social Studies.

B. ONE YEAR REMEDIAL PROGRAMME

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (REMEDIAL)
Candidates must possess the minimum of 2 passes in WASC/GCE/SSCE/TC II or equivalent.

C. JAMB CANDIDATES
Candidates who attempted the MPCE exam and passed relevant courses for NCE programme can come for direct entry into any of the NCE courses mentioned in “A” above.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
1. Application forms for “A” and “B” above are obtainable from the following:-
i. Federal College of Education (Technical), P.M.B. 1088, Gusau, Zamfara State
ii. All States’ Ministries of Education
iii. Zamfara State Women Affairs Commission Office
iv. Federal Character Commission, Abuja – and/or its zonal Offices.
2. Candidate wishing to be considered for direct entry should contact any of the Jamb offices in the country.

Applicants may make a request by post or direct purchase on payment of non refundable application fees of N500.00 in Bank Draft payable to the F.C.E. (T), Gusau.

Completed application forms should be returned to Registrar on or before 30th September, 2008.
